With a blessing of Metropolitan of Krutitsy and Kolomna Juvenaly sisters of the convent perform a special duty of obedience educating children at the Boarding school.

From the concept of the Boarding school activity:

The Boarding school is an educational establishment, which purpose is to give pupils primary, basic and secondary general education based on classical educational system. The school is aimed at upbringing and education of children from families that wish to bring up children in orthodox belief, from families living in difficult conditions, as well as those children who stay without parental care. One of primary goals of the school is to create favorable conditions for training and development of children similar to those in traditional orthodox families. First half a day is devoted to realization of educational program according to the curriculum on disciplines: reading and writing, Russian, mathematics, natural study, the God's law, lessons of godliness. In the second half a day children have a rest, study music, and do physical exercises, as well as needlework and fancy-work. Territorially the school is located in countryside and has the premises where there are a garden and a kitchen garden. Children are engaged in truck farming. Spiritual education is not limited to classes only. On Sundays and other holidays children attend church services. Children live as one big family, division into groups is made only for a period of classes. Special attention is paid to formation of labour skills. Senior children help junior ones, tutors and maintenance staff. Pedagogical, educational and maintenance staff is formed of orthodox people and who lead active church life.

Evidence of journalists: “It is true for sisters and for me as well, - Hegumene Xenia says, - that since childhood we lacked orthodox faith, as we got atheistic education. And, speaking about education, we must confess that our poor parents had always been busy with their work, they paid no attention to their children’s experiences and their sincere problems that were to have been solved. Now, bringing up fatherless children, first of all, we impart them understanding of sin: not to condemn, not to offend other people, but to repent of sins. How to react to this world that is not always kind towards them? How not to be lost in this world that is not always kind towards us? We try to teach fatherless children to live according to Christianity constantly overcoming internal egoism that everyone has. And in fact there are still genes, “patrimonial sins”, as consequences of their parents’ impenitence... ... There were five of them: four brothers and a sister. Their daddy was first to die, and then followed their mum. Brothers got a shelter in the convent. The elder Sasha has just returned from the army and helps his juniors. Youngest Andrew has recently appeared here. He was brought from children's home. And, first of all, the kid presented mother Xenia his toy – a little fox. At the boy didn’t have anything else; he used to go to bed, pressing a toy to his cheek, never leaving it anywhere. And suddenly - he presented it to Mother Xenia. This gift seems to be the most precious. Once boys - pupils were given a test - to draw two small houses and those whom each of them would like to lodge in them. And one " lodged" mother Xenia, father - priest, all the sisters, and his shelter-brothers in the first small house. And in the other - all those who does not have a place to live. “We are frequently asked how we can cope with all these children? - Mother Hegumene smiles. - But in fact they are wonderful, morally sensitive, vulnerable, sincerely talented children. And for the mere sake of such "lessons" they teach us, it is necessary to live. (Marina Murzina) The Most Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II paid special attention to sisters’ work: “I give thanks to you, dear Vladyko Metropolitan, for your blessing, and Hegumene Xenia for her readiness to protect the Boarding school in the name of St. Reverend Sergius in Toporkovo. We shall hope, that efforts of the Holy Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius and the Hole Trinity New Golutvin convent will result in bringing up worthy progeny of the Holy Church, citizens and patriots of our Fatherland”. Since then sisters began to help to create a shelter for fatherless boys in Toporkovo village, near Sergiev Posad. All the pupils total up to 110, some of them have already grown up – now they study in higher educational establishments and help to bring up the juniors.
